The 6SL7GT is a medium impedance double triode with high gain. It featured separate cathodes and was designed for use as AF voltage amplifiers, phase splitters and where required as a cascade amplifier of very high gain. This Octal triode is favoured for many guitar and classic valve amplifiers, however, it is surprising which other well regarded and modern exotica also demands fine devices of this type:-

The wide glass tube envelope is 28 mm in diameter and, excluding the IO base pins, is 62 mm tall.

On offer today we have this wonderful black based Ken-Rad military 6SL7GT. Print is good condition white ink on the base. All pins are bright and corrosion free and the black low loss micanol base is tight to the envelope. This device is ex equipment but has been tested using my AVO VCM 163 valve tester and as you can see from the test data presented below, it gives data for anode current, Ia and mutual conductance gm :- At Va = 250V Vg = -4.6V Section 1: Ia = 2.3mA; gm = 2.1mA/V Section 2: Ia = 2.3mA; gm = 2.1mA/V The specification for a new/100% emission valve is: Ia =2.3mA; gm = 2.0mA/V As you can see, this device exceeeds nominal 100% emission whilst showing good matching between each triode section within the envelope.
